What is the Philadelphia Fed Survey?

The Philadelphia Fed Survey, also known as the Philadelphia Fed Index, tracks regional manufacturing conditions in the Northeastern United States. Survey respondents are asked to report changes in employment, working hours, new and unfilled orders, shipments, inventories, delivery times, and prices from month to month.
