What is the Philadelphia Fed Survey?
The Philadelphia Fed Survey, also known as the Philadelphia Fed Index, tracks regional manufacturing conditions in the Northeastern United States. This survey provides insights on current manufacturing activity and short-term forecast for manufacturing conditions in the area. Survey respondents are asked to report changes in employment, working hours, new and unfilled orders, shipments, inventories, delivery times, and prices from month to month. Respondents are from Eastern PA, Southern NJ, and Delaware.
